Exploring Peace Through Interactive Learning
Peacekeeping Simulations & Games merge education, training, and entertainment to create immersive digital experiences inspired by real-world peacekeeping missions. Players gain insight into the challenges peacekeepers face, from humanitarian crises and civilian protection to the complex realities of modern conflict zones.
The initiative was conceived by Professor Walter Dorn in 2017 while serving at the United Nations as a Protection Technology and Innovation Expert.
The Peacekeeping Simulations have been demonstrated at the United Nations, including to the Military and Police Advisers Community (MPAC), and to offices in the UN Secretariat, including the Department of Peace Operations (DPO) and the Office for Information and Communication Technology (OICT).
